State of accessibility on the luke.fi website

This is the accessibility statement of the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) concerning the luke.fi website. This accessibility statement describes how the website complies with the Act on the Provision of Digital Services, what flaws there are in the accessibility of the website and how you can send us feedback on accessibility.

This statement was written on 24 March 2022, updated 18 July 2022. Luke has assessed the accessibility of the website together with the technical supplier of the website.

State of accessibility on the luke.fi website

Our website partly fulfils the A and AA requirements of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. The requirements that are not fulfilled are listed below. 

Inaccessible content

Attached files

  • Our website may include linked files, the full accessibility of which cannot have yet been verified. We are doing our best to correct any deficiencies in the accessibility of these files as quickly as possible.

Menus and navigation elements 

  • The mobile version of menus and navigation elements may not work faultlessly with all screen reader and browser combinations. (WCAG 4.1.1) 

Images 

  • The website contains some images and infographics that do not have any alternative text. (WCAG 1.1.1)
  • The website contains some embedded PxWeb graphs that do not have any title attribute.

  • Machine reading of PxWeb's graphs can be challenging.

Videos and audio content

  • The website contains embedded YouTube videos that are only subtitled in English.
  • Not all podcasts have alternative texts.

The following content is inaccessible because the service is not yet in compliance with the Act on the Provision of Digital Services (306/2019). 

  • PDF, Word, Excel and PowerPoint files released after before 23 September 2018
  • Audio and video content released before 23 September 2020 Please note that the content of our videos is, however, often presented on the website, as most of our videos serve to clarify text on pages. According to regulations, subtitles are not necessary in these situations.
  • Live audio and video feeds
  • Online maps and map services
  • Content of any third parties
