The primary challenges of the research area lie in safeguarding biodiversity, and in restoring biodiversity in production environments and the nature used by people in a manner that allows for securing the sustainable use of natural resources at the same time.
Goals of the research area
- Data and management measures that safeguard biodiversity, and the preservation and sustainable use of habitats, as well as technologies and digital solutions that support these goals
- Towards synergy from the conflicts involved in the coexistence of humans and wild species
- Reconciling the economic, ecological and social impacts of nature’s multiple use in a holistically sustainable manner
